The Alberta Security Infrastructure Program (ASIP) is a Government of Alberta grant that helps nonprofits, faith communities and schools fund security upgrades. Loch Security is an independent security installer: we provide site security assessments, itemized equipment quotes, and professional installation of alarms, cameras and access control.
Loch Security is not affiliated with, authorized by, or acting on behalf of the Government of Alberta or the Alberta Security Infrastructure Program. The Government of Alberta is solely responsible for administering ASIP and for all eligibility and funding decisions. For official program information, visit alberta.ca.
ASIP provides grant funding to organizations serving communities at risk of hate- or bias-motivated incidents. Funding is split across categories, each with its own maximum:
Figures per the Government of Alberta’s official program page — always confirm current amounts and eligibility there.
Eligible upgrades include alarm systems, cameras, access control, lighting and other physical-security measures — exactly the commercial security work we do. Applications are processed in the order received and funding stays open until the program budget is spent.
Per the Government of Alberta’s eligibility list, applicants must be one of:
Not eligible: residential dwellings, individuals, for-profit businesses, daycares, municipalities, police services, crown corporations, publicly funded institutions and property under construction or development.
Does ASIP cover cybersecurity? No. Under the province’s updated guidelines, cybersecurity assessments are no longer eligible — ASIP funding is focused on physical, on-site security infrastructure such as alarms, cameras, access control and lighting.
There are two streams: a cost-recovery grant reimbursing eligible expenses incurred since June 1, 2021, and a regular grant for new assessments, equipment and training. All program requirements, including any required documentation, are published and administered solely by the Government of Alberta — see alberta.ca.
Separately, as a private security installer, Loch Security offers free on-site security assessments and itemized equipment quotes to any customer who asks — the same commercial service we provide to every client.
Schools expansion: Islamic & Jewish faith-based alternative schools and Arabic bilingual programs can apply until December 31, 2026. Under this expansion, physical patrolling is also eligible (up to $20,000 — a combined maximum of $65,000) and eligible costs incurred since October 7, 2023 can be recovered.
According to the Government of Alberta’s published program information, applications are processed in the order they are received and funding remains available until the program budget is spent. The temporary expansion covering Islamic and Jewish faith-based alternative schools and Arabic bilingual programs accepts applications until December 31, 2026. The Government of Alberta administers the program and sets all program details, which may change — for official program information, visit alberta.ca.
